H.K. Lovejoy was born and raised in southern Oregon where her visionary rites began from a young age amidst the old growth forests, mountaintop lakes, and seaside cliffs. It was not until she attended a marble carving symposium that she would discover those visions—which have long explored themes of mortality and folk art—were naturally expressed through stone as the dreamlike symbolism of Renaissance alchemists are woven through her surreal funerary art. In 2016, Charnel Nectar was established as an identity for this vision, and continues to support itself through the philosophical and mystical introspection of death. She currently resides in Colorado on the threshold of a local cemetery.
